Crystal Cove is my favorite place and little to I know until I delved into a most delightful book, "Crystal Cove Cottage - Islands in time on the California Coast" published by Chronicle Books, San Francisco. I didn't know Hollywood had discovered it as early as 1917! Film crews had built small thatched huts and trucked palm trees down from L.A. nurseries. The "huts" remained and became vacation rentals! I have vowed to have my camera with me from now on. I'm SO sorry I don't have photographs of what I saw enroute..................first--------a large RV parked on the side of the highway with a HUGE red chair; really huge like fit for a king (Like Louis XIV - he was a Large man, right) ON TOP of the RV!!!!! A few miles further north, a moped "upholstered" in Astroturf - every little spot covered with green Astroturf!!!! Only in Laguna (or maybe Venice)!
